Hidden inside the heart of Pienza, one of most charming hamlets of Siena’s area, La Bandita Townhouse is a small luxury boutique hotel hosted in a Renaissance building who has been a convent for more than 500 years.
Owned by a former new yorker who left the Big Apple to live the Tuscan dream, it’s the perfect place to relax and live “the sweetness of village life”.
The building façade and the original structure have not been modified during the renovation, and nowadays the hotel structure is still perfectly integrated with the rest of the village and the neighborhood, realizing the founder’s aim of creating a hotel who could become a part of the town-life.
The twelve rooms, built inside the former nuns’ cells, are finely decorated with an essential and modern taste, with touches of colour who highlight the beauty of the bare stone walls and the wood beam ceilings.
All the rooms are air-conditioned and feature a flat-screen TV, a coffee machine and a wardrobe. The private bathroom has a bath, a bidet and free toiletries. From the upper floor suites, guest could enjoy a unique sight on Val d’Orcia landscape, while the other rooms offer a privileged view on the everyday life of Pienza.
A bar and a library with reading chairs are available for guests, as well as a hidden medieval garden surrounded by walls: an enchanted oasis of peace where to rest and a perfect place to taste the delicious cuisine of hotel’s restaurant.
At the Townhouse Café – restaurant and wine bar – guests could enjoy a fine cuisine and interact with the chef while is preparing gourmet tuscan recipes using local fresh products shopped daily.
